Presidents Special, Durango

Special train made up entirely of 'business cars'. Executive transport from the 19th century. Seen after arriving in Durango and on the yard loop for servicing. Engine is K-27 478. Dark red sides, silver roofs and gold leaf lettering distinguish these cars from the regular fleet. Interiorus are period correct with brass fittings, lush carpet, velvet chairs, and beds with embroidered linens.

One car can be seen on regular trains in charter service, but the Presidents Special is only run a few times a year.

Yes, some of these are original business cars that have been restored. At least one was built up from a regular coach. The coach shop is very good at making new construction look original, but cars like Nomad did serve General Palmer.
