seems like everyone keeps forgeting to talk about the bullet spread since it different between each shot, sometimes it can take 4 shots and sometimes 1 shot, and the damage makes it 1 shot more often while range just increase the effective range and nothing more. damage is a clear winner and shotgun user knows that

With aa12 you need range because with damage it takes the same shots to kill cause the damage is so low

Spas w/ damage
don't need range when you use
MP9 w/ silencer as secondary <-- that = your range.
use
-Sleight of Hand (or Extreme Conditioning)
-Assassin
-Dead Silence

Shotguns with or without Steady Aim

Damage > Range unless you have not unlock damage prof yet.
