You're wrong. Gladiator is actually a rip-off of Superman. His name is Kallark (Kal-El + Clark [Kent]). He wears red and blue, has a red cape, flies, shoots lasers out of his eyes and is seemingly the last surviving member of his species (Strontians).

Pretty solid char, if you ask me. The character design looks like OMAC (Buddy Blank) - see the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode "When OMAC Attacks!" I'm not saying it's bad, it's just...really similar.
