The observation problem is presented in psychological terms of projection and Jungian psychology. For a transcript of the lecture go to the writing section of my website (http://dimitrihalley.com). The lecture was part of a course given by Dimitri Halley at the university of Aruba called:

Love, Compassion and Intimacy in Modern Society, Interpersonal Relations and Family. A summary of the overall course follows:

Perfect balance, relationship, connection, empathy, agape love, love without conditions, and compassion all point to true love which is the oldest power which is known. Why do we fall out of love? At the highest level of development extreme love is felt. Yet all too often true love and compassion is confused and misunderstood. The module will develop an accurate understanding of love and compassion via a multidisciplinary perspective. This will be done by a comparative approach to Eastern and Western scientific and spiritual traditions and also more modern psycho-therapeutic and social traditions, and also art, poetry, music. The role of the ego versus compassion and love will be considered. Also will be elaborated on how social intervention policy and psycho-social care services can respond with compassion (as an intervention method) to clients and social problems on the different levels of society. Core-concepts to approach love and compassion will be consciousness, systemic, critical and paradoxical thinking. A paradoxical and critical understanding of love will be one of the main objectives of the module. The module offers a practical approach toward applying compassion and unconditional regard in modern societies, family and relations. Finally, the video elaborates on what it is that blocks us from the practice and experience of love, intimacy and compassion as care-givers, Institutions, individuals, families, groups and whole societies.

The language spoken in the video is Papiamento, English and Dutch with English subtitles.

  • Observation is creation, imagine what that means for medical diagnostics of cancer, it means doctors 'create' cancer in the act of analysis.

  • @August1977 what they are interpreting and thus what they call cancer is not what it is. and so once they enter the picture they definitely co-create the out come. they are not trained to see that they are doing this.

  • and suddenly i get the feeling im all alone ,,,but part of a big picture

  • @ukrainman20 this is EXACTLY the feeling we should get when we realize the paradox of observation...

  • I've been trying to learn a lot about these things only recently, so I haven't quite wrapped my head around it just yet.

Do all animals, mammals at least, count as conscious and affect just as much?

  • @excelinferno123 good q. mamals are conscious but only mankind seems to have the ability to become self-conscious.

  • i like the background music, it makes the video feel more motivating...

  • Please cut the background music! It's detracting...

  • if you need someone to debunk this for you, you're hopeless.

  • Bottom Line: Everything begins with "SELF", no matter what.

Whether we observe, watch, or comment on any matter, that description will reflect off of our own self. That is the BELIEF!!

WE SEE OURSELVES IN OTHERS & OBJECTS AS WELL, and yet to the people who are un-aware of ALL THIS, they see only what their conscious chooses them to see, as well as understand.

  • @LaEspriella stand corrected

The language spoken in the video is Papiamento, English and Dutch with English subtitles
