Culture is not your friend, it's an impediment to understanding what's going on. That's why to my mind the word cult and the word culture have a direct relationship to each other. Culture is a cult and if you feel revulsion at the thought of somebody offering to the great carrot, just notice that your own culture is an extremely repressive cult that leads to all kinds of humiliation and degradation, and automatic and unquestioned and unthinking behaviour.

I mean the American family is what keeps American psychotherapy alive and well. This is a cauldron for the production of neurosis.

Part of what psychedelics do, is they decondition you from cultural values. This is what makes it such a political hot potato, since all culture is a kind of congame, the most dangerous candy you can hand out is candy that makes people start questioning the rules of the game.

  • The only reason we must have "toiling in the mud" is because we learn through direct experience and even the "bad" has to be accepted in order for there to be progress and evolution. Ignorance must exist in order for truth to exist and what occurs when we don't learn from our mistakes is a delusion/trapping but eventually we awaken and we will always realize our full potential in the "end"...

  • As much as I stand behind art, it won't feed the homeless. Using it as anti-corporate propaganda is one thing, but there's a lot more that needs to be done. Terence McKenna is a guy with a lot of good ideas that essentially go nowhere. But, me? I'm cynical nihilist fuck, lol, based on life experience.

  • Well said ...well said.

  • AWESOME!!

  • @EgoTailTRAILCIRCLE Essentially empty

  • @jdseemoreglass It's todays art & imagination that becomes tomorrows, science & invention. First you think & create & then you manifest reality. Also: even primitive cave dwellers used art to communicate & expand potential. Finally: without cooperation primitive man would have starved. It takes a good deal of it to bring down a woolly Mammal. Today art & cooperation are needed more than ever.

  • All of this nonsense mumbo jumbo that sounds real nice in an ivory tower goes out the window when you recognize man in his natural state. Take a look at anthropology, at evolutionary biology, at physiology... All that matters for nature is survival. What good is art, cooperation, if it does not provide for the man in the forest?

Man is a machine who works for material goods? Ok, but that has nothing to do with culture. The man in the forest is forced to work for his food and shelter everyday.

  • Culture here seems to be an all engulfing term for society and civilisation.

Okay fair enough let's roll with this, he seem's to be under the impression Culture benefits some more then others, maybe.

and that the few put this 'culture' onto the many. No? for a culture and a set of values of norms to work it has to be accepted and imposed by the majority.

so to break culture you use art...but don't emos do that and their a culture in themselves? Dress the same, listen to the same, look the same.

  • Its pretty galling looking at some of the comments that pepes just dont get what he means.

Its just an easy way to get people to organize themselves into easy to understand groups so that they can get 'marketed' to.

    Create thats the only way

  • Culture is your friend if the culture is based on communism where the leader is trusted... unfortunately, one cannot be trusted because we are too selfish, be it by trust or by leadership. Also, culture is your friend if you are intelligent enough to understand the system and play its game. If you sit there and whine about its dehumanizing values, then you're not doing anything about it. How is it going to effect the system? Play the system.
