@GunWebsites Well, to my knowledge Valmet sold designs and machinery to israelis, and prototypes of galil were made on valmet receivers. As one could see from the identical receivers.
Ofcourse this info is straight from the internets and could be wrong. But the rifles rk and galil are almost identical mechanically, easier to clean gastube etc, with each other it wouldn't surprise me.

you are an idiot. no wonder you don't like it. what you are looking for is a gun that costs $1200. unburr it, work it, accessories it, and it will work perfectly. But you are looking to put about $300 to $ 500. NO jambs in mine

kind of makes me wonder how much of the AK47's reliability image is overblown. I've already got a good idea of how much the AR15's unreliability image is overblown. But at least I have enough sense not to go by how 1 particularly rifle functions to indicate how the design functions.

if i was chewing up brass like that i would get some steel case ammo dirty ass shit ammo tulammo. u have an AK so it can handle dirty ass ammo. that's 1 huge benifit of having a galil instead of an AR

@ausfall I thought you might be referring to the 4:40 part but mentioned 0:49 because it is easier to see just how far back the charging handle has to come.
Galils often have sharp firing pins that will puncture soft primers, I'd expect century to address that issue, but, having heard various times these are very bad quality copies, I don't know what to think. I'm only used to the IMI ones.

@ruiferreira89 i was talking about at the 4:40 something mark. but upon review there is a cut in the film so my theory is out of the door.

I finished building my AR 15 a while ago, and I love it! Was thinking of getting an AK next, but I really like the .223 round, so Im contimplating the Galil. Any thoughts, ideas? Price comparrisons?
-
@ausfall At 0:49 the safety was off (righthand lever pushed all the way down to R position). Pause the video there and you will see the extent that the charging handle has to come back. With the safety on, the charging handle won't come a single centimeter back, it just can't be cycled with the safety on.
I have heard these golanis have plenty of manufacturing defects, including warped recievers, burrs, wrong tolerances, etc. What do you make of it?
-
@ruiferreira89 i know the operation. the system is beyond simple. considering it is a remade kaloshnikov(probably spelled wrong) but the reason it didnt fire was because the safety was on when he went to cycle the action to chamber the first round, unless for some reason the Galil will cycle the action completely when on safe. i havent spent much time on that system. that is all i was saying. however i do respect that you attempt to educate people.

You guys are awesome I liked and subbed!!!

@ausfall The safety blocks the charging handle so it only comes back enough to check if there's a round in the bolt. It does so to cover the charging handle slot and thus avoid entry of debris.
i have never seen anyone have that much of a problem with a safety
