This is an old Zenith chassis I repaired many years ago and never finished the restoration. I pulled it out yesterday and fired it up...works like a champ.

  • @gsmarcano I think 1005 is the chassis, not the model of the radio itself. I have the same chassis I pulled out of a destroyed cabinet, it was a 10S464. Yes, I think the wiring on those are all rubber and are a pain in the @!# to repair!

  • hola....please----model???

  • Nice radio!

  • I just bought a 1005 model Zenith,1940 and am going to restore it. Both cabinet and electronics although the electronics still work!, wiring is very bad though.

  • It was said that tube radios could survive the emp pulse from a nuclear bomb detonation, were as a transistor radio would be fried.I would not like to test that out,but find it believeable!
