lots of debate with PS:T and BG it seems. I've always simplified and boiled all these types of games from that era to this:

    Planescape: Torment:

    -maximum story

    -minimum combat

    Icewind Dale:

    -minimum story

    -maximum combat

    Baldur's Gate:

    -medium story

    -medium combat

All of this is in your opinion, of course. Even if so, please still refrain from insulting another RPG. Others may dislike this game, some may like Baldur's Gate more, it really doesn't matter, it is all about opinion. And also, this video isn't about Baldur's Gate, it is about Planescape and also this is music. What does Baldur's Gate have to do with this video?

Not the same project leader, but still the same studio.

Fallout, Baldur's Gate and Torment are linked. Add Icewind Dale to the pack if you please at some point.

    You are totally right

Guys check out Torment:Tides of Numenera, it is a new game and a spiritual successor to planescape torment created by the same people as planescape :)

It's a D&D-based game made my the same studio with the same project leader [I believe] - its inevitable the two will be compared when either one is mentioned.

What about Icewind Dale 2 and Baldur's Gate 2? What would you say those have?

Technically it shares quite a lot in common with JRPGs being a fairly linear story line with only one character option. The beauty of the game is the illusion of choice it provides the character by imitating WRPGs in allowing you to customize the present while being locked into a set past and future for the Nameless One. I have yet to see a game that properly mimics this amazing blend.
