Ben Goertzel speaking on AI gainst Aging at HA+ @ Hong Kong, first transhumanist conference in Asia. Dec 3-4. Also a TEDX conference is on just before hand on 2nd of Dec in HK.

Mass Data: Way more data coming out of biomedical data than humans can interpret. AI software can see patterns in this data that human minds can't see.
We can use this data, and useful patterns to develop therapeutic treatments.

Genecient has evolved fruit flies that live a long. Using AI tools we can understand the difference between the long lived flies genomes to the normal flies genomes - and from this develop useful therapies.

AI is being used in biomedicine for a while, a host of techniques are being used, though these techniques are not being well utilized largely by academics of biology, though they have been integrated into the biology community or into the drug discovery pipeline of major pharmaceutical companies. Though there has been good progress in AI techniques in the biomedical domain, they are not generally being used.
Need to establish the process whereby AI, Biology Expertise and industry work together.

  • @utologydotnet It would be interesting to do such a thing. For any Aging problem related to AI that can be brute forced, can it be distributed and run as screen savers on home PCs? Perhaps it can.

  • What about an 'AI against aging at home' project along the lines of 'SETI@home'?
