  • Kenny G has lots of chops but lacks spirit and soul. His ego and snobbish attitude is reflected in "What a Wonderful World" where he overplays and simply sounds ridiculous.

  • Amen to great music this is a great tune!

  • let me see if i got this...these guys had a bad recording of a gig of ray and basie and decided to do a good one but since ray had passed away, they used his recorded voice on top?

  • wow! I've had the CD for a good while but never saw the story behind the recording. MARVELOUS! 

  • I love the music of Ray Charles, a great artist who will never forget, thanks for uploading the video :)

  • @Chazzberry47 Or that you are simply pathetic for not being appreciative of an artist who clearly is a creed of his own. Whiners like you are a blot on the broader music audience. Condeming others it appears seems to be your only desire. May you get a life !!!!

  • So Inspirational to a 15year old singer as myself! Music was just so amazing!!!!

  • Chazzberry47, letebaguere, and the rest...you all need to check Jeff Lorber Fusion. It will be Kenny G on the sax and flute. He is puttin' it down just like the rest of the band. I know you guys might not care for what he playing today, but it's not his fault the BUYING audience it not sophisticated enough to listen to what he was playing back then. A lot of people have been WAVEd down.

  • @Chazzberry47 kenny g most definitely does not have "lots of chops". read pat metheny's assessment of him: in his word's he's mostly limited to minor pentatonics and pseudo-bluesy stuff; has no real harmonic understanding. the rest of what you said is more or less correct, but kenny g just sucks all around: nothing redeemable at all.

  • necrophiliacs

  • It's funny that Joe Adams would say that when Ray sangs Georgia, he thought of his mother. I've very recently come to that conclusion myself. Ray would sing at the beginning quite often,"Every time I sing this song...". I had come to imagine that the ending to that phrase was,"I think about my mama."

  • Tried to find MUSIC, man.

    Not this lousy stuff.
