Part 3 of 3. Hosted by Alison Bailes and Film Threat's Chris Gore, this special counts down 10 Icons of Independent Film including Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, Spike Lee, Michael Moore, Steven Soderbergh and more. Cool indie film discussion and highlights. Originally aired on IFC in 2004.
Tarantino's films are entertaining but Coen brothers are number one. Brilliant filmmakers in every department.

I think their talking about icons of a certain time period, notice they didn't talk about Cassavetes either.

Tarantino replaced good writing with 'cute dialogue' and has managed to attract a crowd that doesn't seem to notice or care.

100% right chris! Coen brothers are the best! Pulp Fiction & Res Dogs were BRILLIANT, but Kill Bill movies were over rated! Coen brothers should be nr 1, Soderbergh 2, & Tarantino 3

quentin, w/ only 4 films, has proven to have as much range and eccentricity as the coens. i wouldnt have cared if either party had gotten number 1 but i think qt is a fair choice. they did miss a few good directors such as jarmusch

Coen Brothers should have been number 1 over Quentin. They're much more proven directors with a wider array of result. The only Quentin that really blew me away was Pulp Fiction.
