Spoiler Alert: The Honey Bee doesn't quite win.

Video documents the environmentally friendly disposal of an old fixed-pitch E-Sky Honey Bee R/C helicopter. An organic compound is used to facilitate the mechanical breakdown of the helicopter components and spread them over a wide area of an environmental impact research facility. Clearly, the solution to pollution is dilution.

The authors of the study would like to acknowledge the contributions of Chuck from Von's supermarket, who helped identify the appropriate tubers that have sufficient mass, cohesion, and workability to function as the dispersion catalyst.

  • dp was on it, great picture, love a art style shot with this type of entertainment

  • The first two sequences were filmed with decent HD camcorders (Sony HC3 and Canon HV20) - but the feel of the shot is pale and flat compared to the large image sensor and wide aperture of the SLR setup. Thanks for your comments, I'll pass them along to the videographer. For reference, the Honey Bee obstacle course video was filmed with the T1i and a wide angle lens.

  • what camera or lens are you using for the blur effect?

  • The third sequence was filmed using a Canon 7D with an L-series 70-200mm IS lens mounted on a Manfrotto 055XProB carbon tripod with a 701HDV fluid head.

Lots of sweet equipment, to be sure.

  • What soundtrack?

  • The song is Shine Dub, from 10-ft Ganja Plant's Midnight Landing album.

Let the music hit (the ROFLcopter).

  • What a great shot! But I do hate seeing a good heli get trashed. There are far less fortunate people who would love to have that heli and would also take good care of it.
