Harrisonburg Registration Denial

My voter registration was ultimately denied because I did not have my dorm name listed. Although I had the address of the school and my P.O. Box, I did not list my dorm name and was therefore denied.
I Filed a petition in court and was denied again by the judge for the same reason. The judge said "You cannot live in a P.O. Box"

Maybe one injustice is that people who pay no federal income tax still get to vote in federal elections. We're all familiar with the the cry, "No Taxation Without Representation." Well, how about, "No Representation Without Taxation!" And, no, paying local taxes or sales taxes don't count.

Yes word needs to get out on this desperately. You do not need to have a home to vote. You do need to specify the location a place you can be found regularly. And you do need an address where mail can be sent to you (even a homeless shelter). This kid satisfies both of these requirements.

It may be true that a P.O. box is not valid as a location of residence, however, if you listed your college as well as your college P.O. box, that should be fine. The spirit of the law was not followed here.

The whole point is that Matthew is not an "expert" at registering to vote because HE'S A FIRST-TIME VOTER!!!

This is why we need to start appointing non-partisan judges.

Matthew's vote was stolen from him by the system. Presumably he already knows who he wants to vote for and is passionate about it. (He went before a judge, which is going the extra mile.)

The system should allow him to vote, obviously, unless there is some extraordinary reason why it shouldn't.

The bias should be in favor of letting people vote not against allowing people to vote.

The goal is to prevent anyone from stealing a vote, so, in this case, the system failed.
