The great Ukrainian-born Jewish bass Mark Reizen (1895-1992) sings the 5th act aria ('Here, on this holy spot') of Dosifey, leader of the Old Believers, in Mussorgsky's "Khovanshchina".
Taken from a late 1950's Mosfilm version of the opera (directed by Vera Stroyeva), this video captures Reizen towards the end of his distinguished stage career. The aria and following scene were severely abridged for the film, but the sonorous voice is in top form, and (as always) Reizen's singing and presence are absolutely authoritative.

@Agorante -Perhaps they like you are just burdened by their bigotry. Can the aforementioned not simply be Russian Jews. What is your point aside, from showing your ugly true colours. Reizen and Kipnis were simply Jews who happened to be of Ukrainian and Russian birth. You sir-are offensive.

Of course Russian is a citizenship. It is that of people born in Russia - a country with clear geographical boundaries. But historically Russia was once an Empire that had sovereignty over most Slavic nations. And just as Spain, Gaul, and Britain were once all considered Roman, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Georgia came to be considered Russian.

@Agorante russian is not a citizenship, it is a feeling of appurtenances. excuse my English

Its odd how many "Russian" basses aren't Russian at all. The greatest "Russian" bass (IMHO) Alexander Kipnis was also a Ukranian Jew. The two most famous Russian Basses of recent years - Christoff and Ghaiurov - were both Bulgarian. Plishka is also Ukranian.
I used to work in a company founded by Russians but with mostly Ukranian staff. These people don't really like each other. I think it has something to do with that genocide under Stalin.
