60163: The Severn Valley Tornado (Thursday 29th October 2009)

The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust's 60163 Tornado made a one-week appearance at the Severn Valley Railway, from Saturday 24th October 2009, to Sunday 1st November 2009.

The headline-grabbing machine is seen here in action on Thursday 29th October 2009. She runs round her train at Bridgnorth (compromising of the SVR's LNER teak stock, and two Mk1's added to cope with the demand), before taking a spirited run up the line to Kidderminster.

At Kidderminster, she departs tender first with it's second service of the day back to Bridgnorth.

Absolutely - my first ever ride behind Britain's newest steam loco (even if limited to 25 MPH). Hoping to see 60163 again at some point in 2010. Cheers!
