They already have socialized medicine in Massachusetts and it is becoming a monumental disaster, just like everywhere else such "universal" schemes have been tried, with significantly higher mortality rates for those with serious diseases and lack of access to care. "over ten times" i hope is sarcasm, because otherwise you are weird. anyways, something needs to happen. my brother was paralized 3 months ago but is starting to get movement but you would be suprised what medicare and whatnot are not paying for to get him the therapy he needs. we cant just leave the current system be. ask anyone with government insurance how they try to not pay for basic medical needs often.
