Dr. Brown appeared on the January 27, 2010 edition of The Tyra Show entitled "We're 7 & 8 Years Old and Know We Are Transgender." These are some further thoughts on the show and the responses he's received since the show aired.

I am happy to know that someone can address these issues with not only respect but with the research necessary to be equipped in these discussions. I am disappointed at the hate spewed by individuals claiming to be open-minded. I am glad that you are brave and you have perseverance and most importantly God on your side Dr. Brown, because the issues you address are alarming to many Christians that lack the courage for whatever reason to even breathe their opinion or even quote the Bible.

@prboxershorts The problem with self proclaimed christian therapist is they only look at ACTION and ignore INTENTION. Pedophilia is developed and is considered an actual mental illness and psychological problem, akin to a Fetish. However Gender Variance and Homoexuality are not "developed" through "exposure/encounter", they simply exist the fact that you imply that information is correct is stupid. Everyone who sees one or witnesses a homosexual/pedophilic act doesn't become pedo's/homo's.

@prboxershorts .... I have an excellent point as to why gay isn't a choice. Because you can't choose not to be. You CAN CHOOSE to have sex with a male or a female yes... you CAN CHOOSE whether or not your going to sleep with a man or a woman for the rest of your life yes. But you can't force yourself to like/love something that you do not. Pedophiles don't grow up loving Childern (u have get older 1st), gay boys grow up being attracted to boys.

@drager14 did you not hear about the part where kids who prior to puberty thought they were a different sex and wanted to change and did NOT want to change after? "true callings" isn't it obvious that if a person is born as a male or as a female that their calling is just the way they were born?

Dr. Brown makes excellent points why homosexuality is a mental choice; if u are gay, u are not a victim of genetic circumstances. Gay, is a chosen lifestyle. If KIDS are choosing to be gay, its not because its innate or genetic. It's because of the irresponsible exposure, or worst unfortunate sexual encounter to homosexuality. I'm surprised Dr. Brown withheld from mentioning the Men's Boys Association, where grown men feel they have legal rights to have sex with kids if boys feels they're gay.

I can see why you would prefer this rout. While it would, in the end, be less trumatic for the kids. The issue is that it doesn't always work. Nearly never. Here's the issue, when autopsies are done on transgenders (both those who have and haven't done the change) and something in their brains is different.

@Kintaric I don't think your listening, children need good role models, for boys it's fathers, girls mothers, and both are needed for a healthy example of a loving relationship/marriage. Traditional family homes are harder to find, which correlates with the increase in much of what we see happening today (I believe) with gender identification, and homosexuality. I think the satistics would support what I'm saying, if available.
