Old man & wife invited 2 friends home 4 dinner. Was impressed way host preceded every request 2 his wife w/endearing terms: Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, Pumpkin, etc. Been married 70 yrs & clearly very much in love. While the wives were kitchen, old man leaned 2 his host, 'Wonderful, after all these yrs, u still call ur wife those loving pet names'. Host said, 'I have to tell u the truth, her name slipped my mind 10 yrs ago & scared 2 death 2 ask the cranky old bitch what her name is."
Lighten up guys. The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Men revel in gadgets and tools. Women like romance and sweet talk. It is not the price but the thought that went into it. Vacuums are household needs not anniversary gifts. Even something a simple as a planned dinner out would be more thoughtful.
It's important that this sort of misandric garbage gets shown for what it really is. Too bad for them that in their rush to portray men as weak, incompetent, buffoonish idiots, they didn't realize they were also portraying women as greedy, selfish gold diggers who consider expensive gifts an obvious right. It's an insult to both genders, really.
It's called a spine, something the men that approved that commercial sorely lack. But it's not surprising. If you look at the portrayal of males (especially white) in the media lately, you see only oafs and clowns paired against beautiful, smart, all-wise women. Consider if the roles were reversed here, and the woman got sent to the 'doghouse' - there would have been an uproar. But this way, it's funny? Give me a break.
So....why was he in the Doghouse? I think a vacuum was a great gift. I mean, cooking and cleaning are the only things women are good at, right? This commercial makes no sense...
