The modern Tumbao is one of, if not the most common conga rhythms played for all types of music in 4/4. There are many variations of the basic tumbao, including playing the tumba on the 3-side of the clave.
Pay close attention to hand position on the drum.
This basic tumbao pattern is played on every 8th-beat in the measure in the following sequence: notice the 2 hits being placed on the 2 & 3 of the 2 side of the clave..
