No, it's my actual opinion that most people don't intend offense when they say "Indian" for "Amerindian". Historically, the peoples that took up first residence in North America were called "Indians"; how is it malicious? It would be different if we were calling them an epithet, like "chief" or "bushnigger", but the fact is that "Indian" is not an epithet, simply stupidity on the part of Columbus.

What the hell are you on about? I know that Amerindians took up residence before the Europeans. Not one ethnicity ever originated in America, though, therefore the term "Native American" is inherently incorrect, just as is "Asian American".
