What do the sharpest satirical minds working in television today have to say about religion? Well, if you ask Bill Maher and Larry Charles, the answer would be "a lot". Maher is known for holding nothing back on his former talk show 'Politically Incorrect' and his current one, 'Real Time.' Larry Charles made his name as a writer and producer on shows like 'Seinfeld', 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and 'Entourage.' Oh, and he also directed a little movie called 'Borat.' Now, Maher and Charles have joined forces in a new documentary called 'Religulous.' Now, if you're still wondering where Maher and Charles stand, let's just say they might have to dodge a few lightning bolts if they're wrong...

  • @drfye Hey. Good for you. I swing between atheism, agnosticism, and deism, yet I still respect belief if a believer doesn't push his/her beliefs on the world around him/her.

  • Bill Maher is funny, but he's far from being fair. Out of all Jewish people he could interview for the movie he picked a member of the most extreme ultra-orthodox anti-Zionist movement who represents maybe 0.001% of Israeli Jews. And the other one sells Sabbath gadgets for Orthodox Jews who are 8% of Israeli Jews. How about interviewing a common observant Jew? Couldn't fine one?

My point is - the movie is funny and I support a lot of its claims but it's far from being a documentary.

  • @scaryninja1693 im also an agnostic friend, but my view has become let them think what they want because its their life, they cant push their ideologies down my throat unless i lived in a secular state but even then they cant make you believe or not believe. I dont think anyone or anything will "probably" ever know where we came from not even science, they may have an idea but could never fully explain it However, sitting on the fence is funny because you witness both sides flaws

  • This dude with crocks! He is the staff writer for the most successful sitcom on the american screens, not to mention directing some of the most controversial films ever...

  • @Lola6041 ..."wearing crocks"...first thing got on my mind was...pope

  • hahaha, well, it was entertaining, but I will continue to believe in what I want religious or not, no matter what anyone says, hahaha.

  • Religion is like a penis: don't wave it around in public and don't shove it down kid's throats

  • @Megadondada pay attention to what @scaryninja1693 has to say. Check out a little tiny book by Bruce I. Doyle III, PH.D 'How to think your way to the life you want' and you might find yourself asking the question "how far can the human mind go?" Scaryninja has a point. But, that is up to the individual to decide what to believe and accept.

  • @Lola6041 Seriously? Footwear...and you've made up your mind on that? Your ears are a little higher up than that...yes? Nah, forget it. I had to reply. I do this stuff too when I'm drunk.

  • @Megadondada You're* Correcting my own grammar, judge me accordingly. I agree that 'some' scientifically minded people do, although not scientists themselves. In most cases they are reasonably honest about their lack of total knowledge. The way I see it, agnostics are almost correct. It's true that we simply just don't, or rather can't know what caused us. On the other hand, I'm very much certain that no religion has or ever will be remotely close to being correct or knowing the answers.
