One should respect Japanese cultures and customs even though it may look silly. Patronizing Japanese customs are not a good way to get a respect from my people. Oh yeah that's why Gaijins in my country don't really assimilate very well.....

The mask you are wearing is absolutely useless. I am a public nurse and we would never wear those. The only mask that actually works is the Med Pro Vira-shield. It was developed by the military and actually kills viruses on contact. They are more expensive but well worth it. If this bug does hit like a freight train you will wish you had some of these. If it hit hard the supply of these gone like a cool breeze.
