It's a format. A particular boom bap which is generally associated with the Boom Bap sound of Golden Age Hip Hop. Think Premo and Pete Rock and you can see who 9th's influences are easily. Why break a tried and tested format? What mainstream rappers all use the same kick, same snare and same clap and same hi-hats same arrangement which would you prefer?
