sorry to be a geek but it's directly from garage...the early pioneers called it 'dark garage' and over time and largely thanks to people like hatcha, el-b (i think originally a metalheadz signing under a diff moniker) and to a lesser extent benga and skream started focussing more on the dubby basslines. But it was def born out of garage and 2 step.

Hey Did you produce a song called THE GAME ???

Dubstep is ok for like twenty minutes then its depresing as hell on the dance floor.. I can listen at home though..

The fun thing about dubstep is that is does not adhere to any rules, other than a certain tendency to lower tempos and, more importantly, heavy bass. These tunes are def. in the dubstep vein. Useless to go overanalyzing if one may call it that or not.
Other than that, dubstep was not around as early as '96 mate. That's just plain crap.

lol just read what u said and i agree i was just tryin 2 day that it did evolve from dub too hence the heavy reggae influences in most dubstep songs

shits from a lot of different stuff. who cares. how do you listen to this and have semantics run through your head?
