Aw no! See, we've Sky Plussed the new Stargate series to watch. I loved SG1 and liked Atlantis (though preferred SG1) and we were hoping that it would be good!

On that we agree. There was always a good chemistry between Archer and Hoshi, and Trip and T'pol - and beyond just character development and writing you gotta go where the chemistry is. Sci-Fi often fails in this regard... just watch what a mess they are making in Stargate Universe right now as a good example.
-
And I've mentioned about Archer/Hoshi before but always get shouted down by the hard core shippers.
I just think that it would have been better for the longevity of ENT if T'Pol hadn't have been written as between Archer and Trip. Perhaps with Trip from the start and then her realtionship with Archer could have been more clear cut.
And I think then that ENT could have survived well into more seasons. I think they left many things unsolved and seemed to rush the ending of S4. So much potential.

T'Pol - she definitely changes her attitude towards Archer. There is tension between Archer and T'Pol with subtext running below that of a Captain and his subordinate and human and vulcan.
I think it starts romantic but the writers realised that it wasn't appropriate for the show and then it moves to something else, sort of mutual respect in the end.
I noticed that certain writers portray the relationship in different ways especially in S3. I think it's down to character development.

Yuck I don't even want to think of "Romantic AND father/daughter" in the same paragraph. I just like to think of them as very good friends... sometimes men and women can just be excellent friends...
Speaking of Hoshi, from the pilot on - that was the actress I always felt that Bakula had good chemistry with.
-
It was the single worst episode of season 3 too.... which just goes to show you!

T'Pol let the captain know that they could not "hypothetically" allow any attraction between themselves to become realized, indicating a reminder to him that he was her superior officer. However, there are many moments in the series where T'Pol shows genuine feeling for her captain, both romantic and like those of a father/daughter relationship.
And whilst we're on the subject of "A Night in Sickbay", any idea (other than storyline) as to why Hoshi, Archer and T'Pol are in 'decon'?
-
In an alternate timeline, Archer was afflicted with anterograde amnesia (following the temporal anomaly) and he ends up with T'Pol looking after him.
The development of a romantic attraction is suggested in dialog between the two characters themselves, such as T'Pol saying that their relationship has 'evolved' over the years, as well as between other characters, like Phlox, who comments that it must have been hard for T'Pol to learn so much about Archer when he would remember nothing about her
-
Erika is a perfect example... she is a Captain on another ship, so the only thing he can have with her is an "intermittent" relationship. There is no future there. And again, "A Night in Sickbay" is high comedy, the "chemistry" was forced and it wasn't there to such a degree that it ended up being just funny and awkward... even when they were trying to write it.

And I think that season four was finally when the series was starting to turn around, however it was cancelled and they made certain decisions and the series ended.
Left to run out into six or maybe seven series then I expect the Trip/T'Pol would have developed but sadly no matter how much I wish Star Trek and time travel were real, we cannot re-write the past.
And I also think that the forst love for any captain is their ship, however all three captains had their fair share of 'encounters'.
*cries* Why couldnt they end up together!!
i think Riker may have messed with the program!!
*cries!*
