  • Wow, Esmeralda, that sure was nice of you to thank Quasimodo for everything he did for you... y'know, rescuing you when you were about to be hanged, and protecting you from Frollo and whatnot. OH WAIT. YOU DIDN'T. >:(

Oh well, at least Quasi lives in this version. Which is more than I can say for the book!

  • I'm glad they actually did something with Gringoire. I hate how movie versions just want to minimize his character or remove him altogether. He's my most favorite character from the book because there's a dorky charm to him.

  • Thanks for posting. Saw it on tv with my mom when I was a kid. I forgot alot of it and wanted to see if I still hate it. YEP.

  • @Evergreen6991 It's called "Hallelujah", but unfortunately I don't know who it's performed by and I can't find a track on the internet anywhere.

  • in the book she gets executed and then some years later they find his bones next to hers in the catacombs cause he committed suicide,,,,,,I can't remember an ending that just had me bawling like a baby....if you can handle the long books of Hugo then you should read this classic

  • the best film i think in 1939-charles laughton ,what an actor--very moving acting and music

  • @StellianAriolus It should count because Beauty/Belle had feelings for the Beast before he turned into a prince. And unlike Quasimodo or the Phantom etc, he was not born a beast; he was transformed at a point and in the end he changed back into his human body.

  • I <3 Why was I not made of stone thee? best line in any movie ever :'(

  • I wish Gringoire had been in the Disney version. Love that man. Never liked Phoebus in any version.

  • This instrumental version of the final chorus is used in "It's a Wonderful Life."

Any smart people know the name of it?

  • The same music used in, "The Robe." :) Songs
