The rest of Canada used to have two mailboxes one for out of town mail and the other for city mail. That was before they got rid of all our local mail sortation plants and amalgamated them into one location for the entire province. Now when you mail a letter across the street in one town, it gets shipped to Vancouver or Montreal to be sorted then back to the original city for delivery. And they call that progress. Kind of like our decentralized centralized mail redirection unit.
