High school students are participating in a virtual field trip and hands-on lesson courtesy of the Faculty of Medicine and computer technology. Biology students in Cochrane, Alberta are being taught about the human brain, using the actual specimen, without leaving their classroom via video conferencing.

High school students have been coming to the Faculty of Medicine to learn about human anatomy for five years. But in order to do that they have to physically be on site. Dr. John Bertram, the anatomy teaching co-ordinator at the faculty, is hoping by reaching out through video conference more students, especially outside of urban centres, will have the opportunity to take part.
