"Dobro" has become a brand name for the Gibson guitar company; which refers to a "resonating guitar" with a specific style of cone/web ("resonator") and the well-known round pierced metal on the front of the guitar body.

It's short for Dopera Brothers, who came from Slovakia and founded Dobro. I'm sure they realized the play on words.
