  • Don't be naive. How is this nation going to make up for the lost revenue generated by this tax so that we don't see another bridge collapse as we did in minnesota? I would be extremely surprised if the shortfall wasn't borrowed from china and then passed along to all of us in the future. Same deal with these stimulus checks. Sure, i'm going to cash it like the next person but i have to wonder how much the $1200 bucks is going to cost me and my family in the future.

  • Obama voted for gas-tax relief in his state senate and now he is against it when people need it the most? He says Hillary only has tricks and he is the only one with long-term plan.

Such lies, Hillery has better long-term energy plan than he does in addition to her short-term relief with the oil profits going to highway fund, preventing price gouging.

Obama is nothing but a lying politician who will saying anything to make himself look good, including calling his own grandmother a racist.

  • Are you an Idiot the dependency of oil has been drop every year. Billions of dollars go towards research every year. If you save 25 total on gas but the nations roads suffer would you do it? I wouldn't because the safety of people is at stake. The Gas Holiday failed before what will make it work this time. It not only didn't work but caused the gas prices to rise. what will prevent this happening this time. Your just another idiot who doesn't look at the facts but rather the cover. Vote barrack!

  • So our only solution is to allow a president to be in power for 20 years who will ensure reduced energy dependency is followed?

Politicians have been promising reduced oil dependency for years. And don't say that all of a sudden we "believe" this batch of politicians. I want some relief at the pumps - long term is good to have but they take years to accomplish and years to see any effect.

  • Don't even reply to him.. He is the worse guy

on youtube his real name is Roachasylum

  • Shonestar" Please this will take away money from infrasture and cost 8 billion dollars

thats money taken away from roads in bridges this will also cost thousands of jobs in transportion..Look they have tried this before and it failed the gas companies just jack up the price to close the gap in the end.. Demand will just increase and you will never see the savings... Plus this will just

encourage Walking away from enegry dependence..

  • Can you tell me exactly how you know the oil companies won't drie up prices an additional 5% any day, even if there is no gas tax holiday?

    And yes...I'm self-righteous.

  • Shonester can you tell me exactly how it is you know the oil companies won't drive up the prices by 5% over those 3 months? Oh that's right you can't because you're a self-righteous idiot.

  • shonester, gas in NC is 3.72 right now. Now lets say this gas tax suspension goes into affect for three months and the amount removed is .15 cents.

    I predict:

    June prices: $3.57

July prices: $3.65-3.70 summer driving will cause prices to rise again.

August prices $3.90 (huge demand because gas tax will be reinstated next month.

September: $3.90 to $4.10 due to reinstated gas tax.

The savings is worth nothing thanks to the STILL rising cost of gas.

  • Your outlook is as myopic as Obama's. Ever heard of the 4 million truckers who haul America's cargo? Ever heard of the farm industry?

A SHORT term tax holiday will also not set supply and demand out of control.

I'd be more concerned with Obama's plan to raise capital gains to 28%.
