  • I disagree with the explanation that you remove support in such a step by step way. This may work in the example given but other processes are more difficult to learn piece by piece. I think the teacher's role is to be explicit about what they are doing for the child, thinking out loud, they then observe what the students are beginning to take independence and begin to reduce the scaffolding.

  • so many students get behind in the classroom because teachers don't make sure they understand one thing before they move on to the next piece of content. scaffolding can really help minimize this issue.
