What is the exact species of this? I have a mystery mantis that could be in genus Rhombodera, but is so far unidentified. The shape of the pronotum and abdomen on my mantis is similar to the one in this video. The way they both move are exactly the same and their strikes are very similar - both my mystery mantis and the mantis in this video emit an audible click when catching something.

why is he moving side to side?
-
i know they kill empusidae but they are fine for these and can be used for a staple diet and still be fertile for multiple matings all of mine eat non flying food (exept ghosts and violins) and i have bred lots and lots

The point was that maggots and worms are one big piece of shit - you let P. wahlbergii, or any Empusidae munch on waxworms from time to time, they might turn out infertile or even die. Furthermore flying insects are a always a safe bet for EVERY mantis species.
Locust do fly.

why didnt i get the point? locusts are one of the best foods to feed to your mantis, they dont fly...
