  • One of my favorite songs on The River album. Just missed the Born to Run Tour but saw Bruce at the Garden in NYC in 78.I was 16. He left me speechless. I agree 78-81 was his peak. Born in the USA tour was so commercialized and calculated. Before that tour it was just raw to bone rock and roll. I still support Bruce and the band and miss Danny sitting in back of his organ. What can I say, that E Street bands wall of sound is like NYC, it's in my blood.

  • I love the intro soooooooooooo much and for the passion. Bloody hell. He's probably the greatest performer who ever walked on this plannet and believe it or not, thats an understatment for what he acctually is. Hes a legend

  • Um okay, I can die now

  • Amazing guitar solo, greetings from spain :)

  • Holy FK what a great song and live version - Thank you so much - Diz

  • I used to be unable to put this on my stereo without dancing to it.

  • That ending was brilliant!

I like it better than the album version.

I find that live versions of songs are generally much better than album versions.

  • @ortleyman ...I agree The River is one hell of a mighty record, but Darkness on the Edge of the Town to me is his worst CD before 1990 in my opinion. Even now I don't think it's a very good record although I do enjoy some of the songs (I mean there really is no such thing as a bad Springsteen record), and "Racing in the Streets" is incredibly moving and one of his best songs.

The River, on the other hand, is his absolute peak next to Born to Run.

  • Such a great underated song!! Love it <3 <3

  • One of my favourite Springsteen songs from probably my favourite Springsteen album
