At a truly excellent Acoustic Sussex Gig, after a morning & afternoon of solid rain, that had tragically caused disaster up in Cockermouth, Dar Williams sang this fine song, which I believe is titled "The Beauty of the Rain". I hope that you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed being at my very first Dar Williams gig.
I would hate to think this will stand in the public's eye as Dar's greatest tune, but it certainly carries a hauntingly special emotional quality which is rare in today's pop music genre...

One thing that keeps me going is writing music/words that range from spiritual
to protest (a child of the 60's). I tell you this not to promote myself at all nor
compare...no way. I write because your voice is mystical and draws me to your words. Your musical expression is exactly what I love to hear and don't that often except on speciality stations, Way to go you have touched my spirit.

Thank you so much for posting this song. In my opinion, one of Dar's best (and with her extensive collection of brilliant songs, that is saying quite a lot). Again cheers and thanks for sharing this great clip ...!
