Guitar Progress - 3 Months

I started playing guitar in early October, 2009. I've been taking lessons from a private instructor as well as using GuitarTricks (check out their channel here and their website). Having a family and job doesn't allow for a whole lot of time to practice, but I play when I can.

I know I'm not very good, but I hope I'm not doing too bad for someone who's only been playing 3 months!

I hope to do one of these videos every month to measure my progress. Constructive criticism welcome.

3 months? You play quite well, i have been playing for 9 months and watching your video makes me realize how bad i am. I don't have the best guitar, i don't have the best teacher but i play for hours and hours per day.

@favabeans123 why not? It just gives him more enthusiasm and drive to play. The only way someone will actually want to play is if their instrument sounds good (and that if they stop their wasting a $2000 guitar lol)

One thing I noticed is that guitar is perfectly suited for your size. I believe that is one of the keys to your success. Congrats man. Hope you are rocking even harder in a year!!

Interesting that you should say "it would be an interesting experiment, something people would be interested in" because I landed on your page just now looking for exactly that!

You have the guitar chord shapes memorized really well. I'd say that's a good step for 3 months progress! I'm self taught, only been playing faithfully for about 2 weeks although I started years ago and still haven't got far enough to switch chords smoothly.
