The Royal Shakespeare Company production of "Marat/Sade" ("The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum at Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade"
@JKTube Well, I don't believe that they really even had slavery in France or anyplace els in Europe at THAT time in history like America did. Mainly because America had just been settled by the colonies and there was alot of building and developing to be done there ( which was why slavery was needed ), wheres everything in Europe was pretty much already built ( therefore they didn't even really need slaves there ) .
@Skulldini: In 1794, France became the first European country to abolish the slave trade. The 1789 Revolution led to a law that banned the French state to collect data on ethnicity and race. For a very long time, France's population was made up of French people and people from other parts of Europe.
