I used to be like you.....before I lost my hand. Haha joking, but seriously I was and now I don't make main charges with TATP anymore. I just use around 1.25g (which is still ALLOT) for my blasting caps which detonate ANNMAL and other more powerful secondary's

@AfricanPyro ya i know i dont usually make large bombs with it, havent gone over 20g. im currently trying to make some ammonal i just tried a 20g charge a couple days ago: 75/25 AN/Al with a 1g AP putty cap but it didnt detonate or anything. not sure what im doing wrong yet if you have any ideas let me know.

@dementedfuzz A 75/25 ratio isn't very sensitive or powerful. Try a 80/20 thermobaric mixture, if you set that off you'll see the power. If you want a guaranteed detonation, use a 95/5 ratio which is very cap sensitive, but not as powerful. And a 1.25g should be more than enough to set it off. Try to get nitromethane, it will change the power of your explosions 10x. Why are you using AP putty instead of just the regular powder btw?

@AfricanPyro i just made an 85/15 ratio batch with a little charcoal in it ill test it tomorrow. im still trying to figure out how to get nitromethane ill probly make it from methanol if i have to. and the reason i use AP putty is because i like being able to mold it and im too lazy to find something that will hold the powder. do you think theres any difference in effectiveness?
