This is "Enthusiastic" project work, designed for loading the trucks automatically at coalmines. By implementing this kind of automatic truck loading machines everywhere at coalmines, lot of manpower can be saved. This machine can be called as "Electro-mechanical" machine, designed with latest technology can perform the job accurately, according to the commands given by the micro-controller unit. The combinations of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics engineering techniques are implemented, to make the machine more effectively.

The machine can be called as "autonomous", because the machine itself taking suitable decisions according to the situations. The machine is designed with two stepper motors; one motor is used for conveyor belt system. The conveyor belt system is used for carrying the coal from inside of the mine. The other motor is used for lifting the container. The coal container can be arranged at the end of conveyor belt system, such that the coal coming from the belt should fall in the container. To sense the container, weather it is filled with coal or not, the sensing circuit is designed with infrared sensors. The outputs of all the sensing circuits are fed to micro-controller. Whenever the container is filled with the coal, automatically a high signal is produced by the sensing circuit, based on this high signal, immediately the controller stops the conveyor belt system, and energizes the second stepper motor for lifting the filled container. This lifting mechanism is made such that, whenever the container rises up to certain level, automatically it is tilted, so that the material inside the container will be fallen in to the truck. For sensing the truck, weather it is in its position or not another sensing circuit is designed with another set of IR LED'S. If the truck is halted at its position, then only the process will be continued, other wise the controller stops the function of over all machine. As long as the truck is in its position, the process is continued, and when the truck is filled with coal, the driver has to depress the stop key, to stop the process. Again by sensing another truck, the process begins automatically. To sense the container weather it is in its position or not, a limit switch is arranged under the container, which activates automatically when the container touches the ground. By sensing the empty container, the conveyor belt system continuous its process automatically.

Provision is made in the system, such that it can count and display, that how many times the container un-loaded the coal. For this purpose a three-digit display system is designed and the controller through the latch drives it. External sensor is not required for counting the loads, this process is done internally. Whenever the container is filled, controller gets high input signal from the container, which is treated as one full load. In this process how much coal is transported per day can be recorded.
