How important is feedback after an audition? In my mind, it's extremely important...from both ends: casting and the client. So why don't all actors call their reps after auditions? And why don't all reps try to get feedback from casting?

Feedback is great when you're building your skills as an artist. A casting director is a business person. All of your confidence and self validation should be sorted out in an appropriate place like an acting studio. You're trying to enter a professional arena in front of a casting director. You want to behave like you have all your ducks in a row not like you're still working through your own personal issues like, "Do I have what it takes?".
