Evanescence is an average band with a few good songs, a lot of promotion and lots of money invested in postprocessing. Live they are zero, both voice and instrumental.

Nightwish has an exceptional composer, HAD the best female voice in the business, has virtuoso instrumentalists.

Fans and critics agree that the first 4 NW albums were one of the best made in all metal history.

Moreover, NW was great live.

One last thing because it's getting boring. I see the internet is filled with weirdness.

My usual way of discussing an issue is "I say X and here is the proof Y (video, official statement whatever").

YET, there are people like you that see that proof and draw the conclusion.. that it's my own interpretation :)

THEN the same state something stupid and supported like "is not easy i can assure you".

Pretty new to YT... and not very perceptive :) It's not a site, they are links to YT videos. Place w w w youtube com in front of them.

Well, since Nightwish split, Tarja released 2 rock and 2 classical albums and composed about 30 songs so the "composer" part is not standing.

Tarja trained singing in conservatories and is playing piano profesionally (not like self-trained Amy by the ear) since over 2 decades so the "pianist" part also is not standing.

@rsimion3 Well im not the one who started this personal attack thing if you can even remember haha. Again, thats only your own interpertation so it does not matter. I can't get to the site you put on here so you might wana check on that again.

What Amy sings is not easy i can assure you. She is also an amazing pianist and has written many beautiful songs. Tarja does not even write the majority of the songs that nightwish is playing.

Oh, another important thing: what Amy sings is easy play. Soapy american music, very easy to interpret.

Songs performed by Tarja for eg. cannot be even sang by another singer properly. And here I am not talking about shitty Anette Olzon who's almost on the same level as Amy Lee. I am talking about opera stars like Eva Urbanova.

And again - regardless of everything - Tarja hits those damn notes and her voice sounds good. Amy Lee sounds strangled live, without autotune.

It's not called 'rocking out" or "headbanging", but in Amy's case is "fooling around and singing badly". @rsimion3 but that is only because all she does is sing. If i wanted to hear a song sung perfectly an every note correct, i would just stay at home and put on my headphones. The reason Amy misses notes is because of all the head bangs and jumping around she does. ( It's called 'rocking out' if you havn't heard) Her ballads are a proof.

Speaking objectively, if Evanescence has music that are simple to that point that it's fummy, then nightwish isn't far off :)

@rsimion3 Well technically im not hearing your words so you clearly have a problem with a part of your brain. What you are saying is only an opinion. There are different perceptions to looking at live performances.

I understand where you are coming from when you say nightwish is better live. Sure, Tarja does not miss notes like Amy does when live.

Do I look not-calm to you? Means you are missing perception in addition to lacking in the hearing department. An opinion may be subjective or objective. In the "I just like X more" department, Nightwish (with Tarja) always won. Even in this video.

Regarding autotune - own oppinion does not matter. It's right in our faces. Amy Lee misses the notes big time and her singing is all over the place live. Always.

Considering how simplistic their music is, it's plain funny.

@rsimion3 woah calm down a bit. Sometimes they do use backing sounds but i do not see a problem with that? And no i dont think they use autotune like you mentioned...

The lead singer has a strong voice and their music is more inspirational than any other band I've heard so far... so thats all that matters to me.

What I have notices is that they are weak and out of tune, live. Also, they abuse backing sounds to mask their own sounds and almost all "live" feeds with them are post processed and auto tuned.

If you ear does not help, send me a link with a live song of theirs and I will indicate where they cheat or are out of tune.

I am glad for you because you don't notice these things, but myself.. I do. And my ears bleed.
