One True God and the Christian Church. Randall Niles looks at rules and rituals of religion taking the place of a real relationship with God.
Naked before God!
Whether we admit it or not, were totally naked before God our minds and motives are fully exposed. Therefore, we should embrace our spiritual nudity. It is utterly worthless to go through religious motions and traditional mantras without humbly and honestly seeking God.
In Hans Christian Andersens The Emperors New Clothes, the problem wasnt that the emperor was naked he was. The problem was that he wouldnt admit it.
He thought it better to continue the procession under the illusion that anyone who couldnt see his clothes was either stupid or incompetent. And he stood stiffly on his carriage, while behind him a page held his imaginary mantle.
So, how many of us are placing organized religion before spiritual authenticity in the Christian Church? How much humility and honesty is giving way to pomp and ceremony? Sometimes it just takes a child, without job or agenda, to declare, The emperor is naked.
And thus starts spiritual revival for many of us --

If God can see into my soul (I'm an atheist), will he be able to see that I honestly, truely, and with good will, do not think he exists? Will he understand that, as far as I am aware, I cannot CHOOSE to believe? I mean, I could fake it, but he'd know, right? So Paschal's wager is meaningless, since I am naked before God. Surely God loves honest atheists better than feigning Christians.

I spent 20 years studying the Urantia Book, and the Padgett messages and then asked myself the simple question..."Do you therefore love more?" I had to admit that for all of my increased head knowledge, I had not progressed not one whit. I scrapped it all, erased my website, got out my Bible and started from scratch again. Your tenacity in belief was an encouragement to me. Thanks for the video.

I thought this was a good reflection. I make a distinction between religiosity and spirituality. In the contemporary world, the sacrifice of Christ appears barbaric, archaic, and irrelevant. The cross is still a scandal, along with such an esoteric (i.e., in an emerging global economy based on material culture) term as "sin". To me, the redemption of the Incarnation is not limited to organized religions, and the activity of God reaches for all of humanity.
