Gas Tax: Have Americans been Spoiled?

http://live.pirillo.com - Many of us remember when gas was 99 cents per gallon. Now, we are bemoaning the fact that most of the time, we have a hard time finding it for less than $4.00 per gallon. Do you realize, though, that the US has only 18 cents per gallon Federal tax on every gallon of gas... while many other countries charge several dollars per gallon for their gas tax.

I just paid $1.32 for a gallon of gas. Man it's great to not pay a draconian petrol and value added tax on gasoline. Europe, enjoy your gas taxes.

Fuel are laughably cheap  in the US and they are complaining that it's to much. Double the consumer price for gas (as it is here in Europe) with taxes and interesting things will happen.

i live in belgium and the roads here are pretty bad compared to the ones ive seen in the US. there are still cobblestone roads

I say put a 4 dollar TAX on every gallon of gas like in Europe and the rest of the world! Americans are getting WAYYYY too spoiled getting everything they want as cheap as possible. Times have gotta change!

That women at 3:30 should have a piece of carpet tape on her mouth. She makes really idiotic statements, such as "Problem with Europe is that there isn't any American cars there." Then she tries to derail Bob's discussion by asking about his Chrysler 500 (never heard of it).
