poor pilots and techs that died.. god rest them... Our Seaking Helios here in Canada are in the same boat.. it's scary and everyone who is local on either coast of canada that sees they flying on a normal basis we cringeand pray that the crews don't get killed or hurt. governments need to get off their asses and replace the aging fleets in both GB and Canada.

Just to clarify, Jock Stirrup also came uder my wing at Wittering. Always begged the question with me and my peers, how the hell has this waste of space progressed so far, so quickly? Answer...fast jet mate.... talent has nothing to do with anything.

NOT sensationalist, don't know your background, but I was privileged to spend over 400 hours on the Nimrod, me as a groundpounder, working in intelligence. Glen Torpy 'spit' came under my wing whilst being taught reconnaissance techniques flying the Jaguar. He is symtomatic of what is wrong with the Royal Air Force. So called 'fast jet mates' rule the roost. Glen Torpy, Jock Stirrup, look in the mirror, some of us know who you really care about, you are wasters. James B

The basic airframes are more than 40yrs old Comets....when I served in the RAF in the 70s there was great concern about this 'add-on' conversion for even then an old aircraft......Political expediencies and lack of public support for a proper Defence Budget over the last 25 years is at the heart of this situation...and the coming Defence Cuts will bring about further accidents and deaths.....and a lessening of our Forces capabilities.....Aircraft Carriers without aircraft for upto 9 years???

regardless of which model number it is, surely the issue is that the planes are fuct n they need replacing or updating. Looks like we've left ourselves a weapons gap by continuing with something that needed to be replaced a good 15 years ago. Where's the research into a new plane?

4:10. This video is a load of crap they know nothing. Thats a nimrod MR2! MRA4 is clearly different, a five year old could spot that... A lack of research.
-
Good on you :). Nice to see it still appeals to some.
-
Tax the rich more & they will have plenty of money for new stuff.

But sucks the life and fun out of flying.
This type of sensationalist media coverage really pisses me off. They could at least get all the facts right for a start:
2:03-2:15 Absolute bollocks, most Nimrod pilots who decide to leave feel they have come to the end of their RAF service, and choose to move on to civilian pilot jobs where the moeny & shifts patterns are much better.
4:10 That's not an MRA4 it's an MR2, that just shows a basic lack of proper research
Tragic accident none the less.
