  • @DeserTBoB93535 there was such as thing as 'steam-ejector air conditioning', which used steam shot through a venturi at a high velocity to decompress and cool the AC coolang, but never have i heard of reciprocating steam engines running AC compressors.

  • @dumbasscracker The 251B was used in the FP4A. It was a V12 with 1800 hp...

  • @aeyb701 Steam was used to run all AC prior to the move to HEP in the '70s. They used small recip steam engines in each car to drive the compressor. Some used Waukesha "Ice Machines" to do it using gas or diesel engines.

  • s that real steam I see coming from the SGU? In Canada they used these cars even in summer as the steam was somehow used to run the EM air conditioning.

  • It sounds pretty much as it did in CN/VIA use. Only two bells sounding but those two bells in tune nonetheless. I'm glad they kept the original horn. M3H, not M3.
