Barb and I came upon an emu and her baby. They were in the middle of this town just walking around snacking.

  • Hey Fun. When you live on the other side of the world, seeing an Emu with its child is like the greatest thing on earth.

Kind of like if you come here and see the Grand Canyon. Maybe not that wonderful, but believe me, we loved it.

We can't wait to go back again.

  • BTW - was filmed near toilet block looking south towards school on Maidstone Crescent - near the Ross St Mall.

  • Thank you so much for explaining about that. An emu can break your leg? I would never have gotten that close if I had known.

And, I loved Exmouth; you are lucky you live there. It is remote my friend. That was the favorite trip of my life, truly.

I saw more dead Kangaroos than emus. Are emus smarter than Kangaroos?

  • It's Mr Emu and baby? OMG!!! I never knew. I better change the title then.

This is right by an outdoor bathroom and by a sort of small mall area. I couldn't recall the street if I were paid.

    I'll ask my better half.

    Thanks.

  • ahah the school is only across the road lol emus are everywhere tourist think there like the the weirdest thing on earth but there everywhere liike flys lol

  • Emus are pretty aggressive too - can break your leg with one kick. If youre near them and they get aggro - hold your arm above your head - make yourself look taller than them. I live in Exmouth - they're everywhere and have absolutely no common sense when it comes to stepping out in front of your car. Exmouth - middle of nowhere? there are more remote towns in Australia, surely! Gotta watch out for dropbears, aswell...

  • I wonder where you filmed this; downtown? At the school? I lived in Exmouth 84-87. It's Mr. Emu and baby, btw. Emus lay their eggs and take off, leaving dad to tend the nest and the youngsters. Loved seeing this!
