Cool layout. Question; are the cars straight ahead Lionel that you can buy complete in a store or are some of them from kits? The reason that I ask is because I saw that model figure of a man you had standing on one of the reefers.  Thanks.

The 2 box cars with the men on top are Lionel's operating brakeman box cars. The men walk back and forth on top of the box car roof. They have been out for a few years and they operate very well.

The trains in the background are MTH. The Western Maryland challenger is Lionel as well as most of the cars that it is pulling are Lionel

Lionel makes good pulling steamers, MTH makes the best pulling plastic bodied diesels, 1 MTH AC4400 can pull 60 cars including 3 diecast cars. Great engine and layout.

This layout is very well done. Like all the box cars with the steam engines.

there is this train layout here in fort worth and they will run trains of up to 165 cars unrealistic yes, very cool yes.

I prefer Lionel as you could load and unload cars like a real railroad and not just run around and leave cars as in HO.
