Three years ago, I was stabbed multiple times and was put on life support for over three weeks because of it. Typically, the first things that come to mind when you hear someone has been stabbed multiple times are drugs, killings, gangs, debt, etc, but this was not the case for me. I was at my house in Raleigh, NC, when I stepped outside one night. As I was standing there, a man younger than I stabbed me five times, once in the heart. Later, he admitted that his reason was because he "didn't like the way I carried myself". The EMTs quickly arrived at the scene and it is on record that my heart stopped for a minute and a half. Afterwards, I was put on life support and my doctors repeatedly told my family that I was not going to survive.

Yet, here I am today. I'm 23 years old, from East Wilmington, DE, and currently a student at the Delaware Technical and Community College in Wilmington, DE. I am studying Education Counseling and I am a motivational speaker for children and a tutor as well. My life threatening accident has immensely impacted my life and has inspired me to "be better than yesterday".

My new motto for life has proven to be successful. In March 2009, I rescued a woman, who was trapped in her car, from a moving train that was about to hit her. My story can be found in a worldwide magazine and an article in the magazine, Reader's Digest. I have a book coming out this fall (2010) called Life is Precious, which explains in detail my accident. In addition, I have my first CD about to come out, called Always on My J.O. with my favorite songs called "Life Support
