So I don't see anything wrong whatsoever with what Common was saying. How is he racist? He's good friends with Jeremy Pivins, was in Terminator Salvation with white coworkers, etc. Some of you don't even make any sense.

@trooper40below Recognize that history and ry not to repeat it. Obama got elected and black people knew sooner or later certain whites were going to mischaracterize Obama and just try to smudge him. But I should not be patriotic to a country who do things to people because of race. But I'm patriotic despite of it. But I'm not going to sit here and state that America is sooo great and perfect its not and thats why you hear Common, Mos Def, Talib, Sharpton, Hugo Chavez, etc. speak the way they do.

@trooper40below Police harass us constantly. Experiences you're not going through in terms of race. When certain whites see minorities they already have this foolish negative image projected of us. Also balck people and latinos like to keep it real as well. Stop trying to pretend America is always good. It's not always good. It has a history of doing very bad things. Slavery, taking land from Indians, taking land from Mexico etc. While it has done good as well we need to be honest.

Readng all these insensitive comments from certain white people let me explain something to you. The white experience is different from the black experience period. As you know blacks in the United States has a history of being discriminated against in every faction in this country. When it comes to jobs, getting a loan, to live in a decent neighborhood, sending our kids to decent school, etc. we are always getting discriminated against. Thats why sometimes we get iffy about our country.
