In this behind the scenes glimpse, filmmakers Sally Lundburg and Elizabeth Pepin discuss the difficulties of shooting on location at Maverick's a monstrous wave in Northern California. Their hour-long film, One Winter Story, explores the nature of fear and faith through the experience of one young woman, big-wave surf pioneer, Sarah Gerhardt. This documentary takes viewers from the frigid conditions off the coast of Central California, to the walls of water on the Outer Reefs of Hawaii, to the ominous surfing conditions at Maverick's.Through it all, we share Sarah's fear and frustration, and come to understand how her family and her faith in God help her take on the obstacles in her life.

Sarah is my Hero!! i met her at a lecture in Long Beach last year, she is a total inspiration. I was hitchhiking in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago and her dad gave me a ride, i was stoked, he's a beautiful soul too.
