Gigantic hit in game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks on Monday, June 6th, 2011 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. It wasn't even a second after Horton released the puck, just watch the full-speed replay and not the slow-mos when judging this hit. If you want to give it a 2 minute penalty fine but it is not worth a suspension and an ejection, it was a legal hit, but for some I guess a half second is too late.

  • the hit is so-so, but it's very nice to see him on the ice trying to touch the invisible star

  • Normally that hit is illegal but since it's against Boston the guy is awarded a free car.

  • Boston, what bunch of pussies!

  • clean open ice hit.

Maybe the Bruins should cut the dirty shit and this wouldn't happen.

  • @laxdjd Awesome comment bro, might even be the best I've seen this year

  • What a fucking douche bag, go Bruins!

  • @UVERlover123 You sound bitter. Bruins fans weren't blasting Montreal, we were more or less laughing at them. We were laughing at Montreal for launching a ridiculous police investigation into the hit, as if Chara was a criminal and was going to be charged with a crime...lol, while Pacioretty was tweeting at a movie theater a couple days later, with a broken neck and severe concussion? I mean...come on, man. Be pissed about the hit...but a police investigation?

  • @NHLArchive I see your point but the Bruins play on extreme emotion and they probably thought that Horton might not play for god knows how long. Where Savard comes in is, losing two of your offense stars to questionable hits in a few seasons can really light a fire under you. I agree that the 'Nucks had the Bruins by the throat and that hit should have been the finishing blow, but the Bruins maned up and fought back while the 'Nucks turtled. (This is all my opinion of course)

  • @MLCodest savard should have nothing to do with it, and I don't know how much hockey you watch but typically the team that commits one of these hits wins the series not the other way around like in this situation, it is just the sedins are horrible pussy captains and once that hit lit a fire under the bruins asses they couldn't counter, just play with themselves on the bench.

  • @NHLArchive After what happened to Savard how is that a lame rallying point? They had no clue his injury wasn't that bad and neither did the NHL (Hence why Rome got suspended for 4 games). The Bruins had no rallying points after losing two close games on the road, so they took what they could and won 4 of the next 5 games to win the Cup.
